Ramil, please, tell us how you've become an artist?

Searching for the real me, I've tried myself in many professions but have always felt I was playing somebody else's role. To be honest, at some special moment I was so depressed, I clearly understood that I'd been living somebody else's life. At that time, I met a special man who advised me to visit the Tibetan singing bowl meditation session. Evidently, that meeting and that piece of advice have been life-changing. The session has become a totally amazing experience and has opened a new reality! The next month, everything changed: I went on a long trip for the first time in my life, and I met the love of my life, my future wife. I made the decision to make a special hand-made gift for her. I took some golden paint and several shells found on the trip and created a very beautiful flower for her. I felt the art process had captured me completely, and I've joined the magic world of boundless art since then. I launched my experiments with various materials, I was sculpting and making collages, but about five years ago I took a canvas and paints.

Your wife has become your Muse. What's her name?

Yes, that's totally true. Her name is Galina. She has always been my best support. I discuss the ideas and the art process with her and show her my paintings. Sometimes Galya gives me the advice to finish the work.

How does your work process flow?

I'm painting all the time — almost every day. I have created around 500 paintings in the last four years. Usually, I am not anticipating inspiration or a special moment. I am painting regardless good or bad moods, that's the reason why my works are so different, including the colours. I am not using the easel, I'm writing right on the floor, listening to the meditation music. I have no palette, I give paints the freedom to mix the way they do.

You definitely have a unique style that is easy to recognize. How did it shape up?

There are no limits to perfection. I believe you have to grow all the time. At the moment, I've discovered a deliriously interesting art technique called pareidolia.
It's not a definite conception or design, but unconscious area research. I'm working with deep inner images, emotions and visions via serendipity and active imagination. For the past two years, most of my paintings have been joined by this method.
Ramil Karipov was born in Neftekamsk in 1986. He has tried himself in many professions and has been searching for his calling for a long time. In order to express himself, Ramil has turned to the art that was transformed from an ardent hobby into his job.
ABOUT ME
Ramil Karipov is an observer, listener, and creator, translating, transmitting and interpreting the truths of the Universe.
The artist examines the interaction with micro and macrocosm, observes the world and cognizes it through spiritual practices, comprehends and makes notional the uniqueness of natural phenomena, relationships between people, laws established in society, internal processes of self-cognition, and human development.
Ramil's main mediums are canvas and acrylic. The artist paints, yielding to the inner voice and serendipity. He accumulates knowledge, archetypical images, and deep emotions, referring to the memories and heritage of all mankind — the collective unconscious.
In the PAREIDOLIA project, the artist works with the unconscious field, trying to distinguish fragments of real images, ideas and plots within the boundless chaos, to give tangibility to the infinity, to harmonize, and to structure. Stream painting that relies only on his intuition enables Ramil Karipov to transfer to the canvas completely elusive images that, when examined in detail, become unique keys to understanding themselves for any viewer.
GREEN SKY is a project that praises openness and sincerity. It is not so difficult to structure this unstable, constantly moving world, the main thing is to be open to changes, to be honest with yourself, to dream and act, not to be still, to take into account your emotions and listen to yourself, your serendipity, and to allow you to see more.
The artist's latest project, STYLE ICON aims at analyzing the concept of "fashion", its premises, and its motives. Considering the world of fashion as a separate art direction, where the fashion designer is the artist and his mediums are fabric and the body, Ramil paints, immersing himself in the aesthetics of the body and turning the human being into an object of artistic contemplation. The man has no personality, the costume and the surrounding landscape speak for him. The сlothes, urban environment and nature become markers of the era and the internal state of the characters, shrouded in fashion.

Ramil's works are expressive and emotional. It is important for the artist to convey the energy of life, to explore the possibilities of the Universe, and to teach the spectator to listen to himself and his surroundings. Ramil Karipov's paintings become the tools, the beacons, and the tutors that lead to a deeper understanding and getting to know your own self.
